Grilled tomatoes

tasted good with rice. The salad with its sauce was enough to accompany rice. I have a knack of choosing dry dishes when i eat Chinese or Vietnamese. While reading Chinese cooking, I went duh! if you have to eat with chopsticks then you will not want to pick up sauce with it.
At the Middle eastern store. I found green beans. There was Turkish delight there, with citric acid in ingredients. I was wondering until then, what  might those piles of citric acid be used for? There were bags of dry lemons for which I knew no use of until this article. moghrabieh, a Lebanese product caught my attention too. they reminded me of hand made pearls of dough made in our homes during Vinayaka Chathurthi. When I saw a Lebanese cooking book, I wanted an image. My finger was on Laban immo. Meat looked white washed in yogurt.
We bought bulgur, couscous, vernicelli thin long semiyan as a bad substitute for pheni.

Fregula looks like Lebanese couscous, Moghrabieh but its baked. I came across Fregula in Michaels genuine food. I went through this book before, but it didnt catch my attention then. Today I had Manaeesh Zataar. We had Indian Fry Bread at Halloween Carnival. A little girl in a mermaid dress said," Hi, hows my costume?' .
You look very good.
The best costune I remember is an old lady in a bathrobe with a befitting mask, a butcher's knife in her hand and house slippers. I almost mistook the costumed for an old lady.
We were early for a better parking space. seeing no signs of carnival, we followed a trio - a mom, a kid in a black overall with a candy pail and grey face. We were led to the other end of the park. We saw kids in costumes like elephant, cop, petal skirt..
when we had enough, we had to walk all the way back. an earnest old couple asked us about the party. We told them that there lay some distance ahead of them. When we reached the car, we found a family with dressed up kids who needed to be told to drive to the other end of the park.

Healthy protein cabbage After the onion gravy success, I was excited to find out who is next in the boxring. A cabbage. I have  afound a way to make my family love it - a lentil eg urad or moong (fried initially, adds crunch - learned from a friend's sister visiting then) in copious amounts and mandolin sliced cabbage I wanted to see if there was a different way to make it. I saw this split chickpea addition to it and wondered why I didnt think of it before. I know of a recipe with soaked split chickpea and onion curry (diced onions, but now I am thinking another recipe would be to give the special treatment to onions with a blend and then fried well - elevates any main ingredient even simple one like soaked split chickpea. oh no, now reimaging all the great food could have been if done well - thinking chole curry -- its like once you know a mistake and have tons and tons of papers, to go back and correct). In some months, when for religious reasons, people dont eat onion, t...
