While looking at the different kinds of apples in the book, two that caught my attention becasue of their colour - Hidden Rose Apples and Pink Pearl apples.
Some recipes that appealed to me - pumpkin and apple custard, sweet potato and apple latkes. The book had the recipe for morning glory muffins too.

Banana pudding

I went over the roasted banana pudding recipe from yesterday and found it too consuming (shopping time, dishes, baking time), I finally decided on  caramelized banana pudding . And meringue making is merry. Flour is used in making the custard.  all purpose flour plays the corn starch  role of thickening the custard. I used  Parle G  instead of vanilla wafers.

Streit's Potato Pancake Mix

In went some Indian spices - Cumin, Dhanajiru powder, pepper and salt. Had it with green mirchi chutney and dahi. Tasted like vada. Vegeterian Kishke  can be made with carrots and celery added to the potato pancake mix.
