My mom would ask my brother if he would eat in the evening. He would say 'not hungry'. Half an hour into her saturday movie broadcasted by the DD, he would announce his readiness to eat. Food is best had when cooked. Its not always that we are in the mood for cooking. It takes work to be the eager cook who pesters with a 'Shall I make pancakes now?'.

Banana pudding

I went over the roasted banana pudding recipe from yesterday and found it too consuming (shopping time, dishes, baking time), I finally decided on caramelized banana pudding . And meringue making is merry. Flour is used in making the custard. all purpose flour plays the corn starch role of thickening the custard. I used Parle G instead of vanilla wafers.

Streit's Potato Pancake Mix

In went some Indian spices - Cumin, Dhanajiru powder, pepper and salt. Had it with green mirchi chutney and dahi. Tasted like vada. Vegeterian Kishke can be made with carrots and celery added to the potato pancake mix.
