I saw this book in the library yesterday and made an express plan to get rid of all the other books. By the time I went there today, is gone. So is the Some Assembly Required: A Journal of My Son's First Son. Lucky for me, the library has  copies of this book. 

The cover picture looks like many hands are holding the gelatinous pastry.

Banana pudding

I went over the roasted banana pudding recipe from yesterday and found it too consuming (shopping time, dishes, baking time), I finally decided on  caramelized banana pudding . And meringue making is merry. Flour is used in making the custard.  all purpose flour plays the corn starch  role of thickening the custard. I used  Parle G  instead of vanilla wafers.

Streit's Potato Pancake Mix

In went some Indian spices - Cumin, Dhanajiru powder, pepper and salt. Had it with green mirchi chutney and dahi. Tasted like vada. Vegeterian Kishke  can be made with carrots and celery added to the potato pancake mix.
