Biscotti

olive oil biscotti

 I have been planning to make biscotti for a long time. Two major reasons for making it now.
1. We know someone who likes them in particular
2. I have started enjoying my daughter help me with the 'mix mix mix'... We were watching Elmo's birthday video and that reminded her of 'cake'.

So for now all baking leads to cakes. I got her to help me with beating up the eggs. If I dont let her handle something in the name of measuring, she says she wants to measure.

While making them, she had a list of people, she wanted to share them with.

Banana pudding

I went over the roasted banana pudding recipe from yesterday and found it too consuming (shopping time, dishes, baking time), I finally decided on  caramelized banana pudding . And meringue making is merry. Flour is used in making the custard.  all purpose flour plays the corn starch  role of thickening the custard. I used  Parle G  instead of vanilla wafers.

Streit's Potato Pancake Mix

In went some Indian spices - Cumin, Dhanajiru powder, pepper and salt. Had it with green mirchi chutney and dahi. Tasted like vada. Vegeterian Kishke  can be made with carrots and celery added to the potato pancake mix.
