Bread and Cakes





Yesterday, when i found this double oven, I wondered if it was really what it was.  And these sizes are nothing compared to what the bread makers at The Model Bakery have to deal with.

The Struan recipe in the book calls for soaker. And then there is biga and the dough to go with.

Morning Glory muffins
Berry and cream Cake. I have to make a cake like this at least once in my lifetime.
Coconut cake
Chooclate Mousse cake referred in Seasons in the Wine Country.




In India too there is a convenience bread by the name Model Bread.

Banana pudding

I went over the roasted banana pudding recipe from yesterday and found it too consuming (shopping time, dishes, baking time), I finally decided on  caramelized banana pudding . And meringue making is merry. Flour is used in making the custard.  all purpose flour plays the corn starch  role of thickening the custard. I used  Parle G  instead of vanilla wafers.

Streit's Potato Pancake Mix

In went some Indian spices - Cumin, Dhanajiru powder, pepper and salt. Had it with green mirchi chutney and dahi. Tasted like vada. Vegeterian Kishke  can be made with carrots and celery added to the potato pancake mix.
