potluck

Today my husband had to take something for a potluck. He boiled kabuli chana. I had channa chaat in mind yesterday. But today I made chana chaat and coconut chana dal stir fry. I forgot to use the onions I chopped for the stir fry.
He came back with Queen Anne's chocolate, pie, candy cane, cake, egg rolls, wheat snacks wirh chile and lemon, a big bottle of picante sauce.
Today I had Hazelnut Mazel coffee. It was not very ceamy, rife with hazelnut flavor.

Banana pudding

I went over the roasted banana pudding recipe from yesterday and found it too consuming (shopping time, dishes, baking time), I finally decided on  caramelized banana pudding . And meringue making is merry. Flour is used in making the custard.  all purpose flour plays the corn starch  role of thickening the custard. I used  Parle G  instead of vanilla wafers.

Streit's Potato Pancake Mix

In went some Indian spices - Cumin, Dhanajiru powder, pepper and salt. Had it with green mirchi chutney and dahi. Tasted like vada. Vegeterian Kishke  can be made with carrots and celery added to the potato pancake mix.
