Jotting down ideas

In writing, I know that to be ready for the next idea, I should write down existing thoughts and ideas.
Something similar must happen in the cooking world too. Not necessarily coming up with your own creative cooking idea, but making the dishes with new ideas you come across or new skills/ways of cooking.

Recent fun cooking
Today while dondakaya was beign cooked, I suggested adding coconut to it, which made for a delectable dinner. 'Dondakaya is the new bendakaya'. Usually bhendi fry is served at the parties. No reason why dondakaya fry shouldnt be a party material.
This white sauce pasta was fun to make. Its fairly quick too.
This mushroom tikka masala will show you how to make each mushroom count like a jewel. Here I learned how to make nawabi gravy. While it is hard to get the spcie right with creamy gravies, I realised that it takes the ginger-garlic taste very well, when I made a paneer curry with the same base. Got to have only a bite of it, as it was intended for a meal train. But that one bite transported me to heaven.

We are getting tofu. Already have some ideas of
tofu and mushroom
tofu and eggplant.

Before moving onto the next experiments, I should try that tornado omelette.

Egg Malai Masala

Egg Malai Masala  Its fun when things turn out as they should. I pureed the onions and then cooked them well. I added the milk for the egg Malai Masala and made chicken curry with other half of the onion base. I used kasoori methi in both. Many times I have felt the onions grainy, but this time I got it right. Patience.

Cuban Bread

So you should already know the sweet and breadrolls book if you have already read of the popovers. I have planned on making bread for a long time. A detour of popovers and finally I'm aqui. From the same book, I tried this Cuban bread and enjoyed making the slits in the bread. Like a surgeon. I still have to get the proofing right. The actual recipe reading takes place in real time. I was reading about the bread on the web and when I came across the lines about how it is different from a French bread in that it is left to rise after shaping the loaf, I was worried that my Cuban bread would lose its nationality. Turns out that I hadnt progressed that far into the recipe. The Best American travel writing 2008 Khubz al arabi
