Banana bread

Bananas abound, I had to make some banana bread.  Green tea banana bread  calls for 1 tbsp matcha powder which made it overpowering over the banana and sugar. For the second batch, I began with this  recipe . When it was time to put sugar, I thought why not use the 7 minute frosting which didnt set from the Beekman's coconut cake. I used about 200 ml of it. The butter. Later it was still in the microwave left for melting. Still it turned great. That was just flour, the frosting material and baking soda. For once the experiment turned fine.

Asian Flo

Read an article on  Asian Flo  and tried it. Lettuce Wraps - neatly. the crunch of the lettuce and the munch of the chicken, always a treat. Ordered first shrimp dish in a restaurant. Shrimp Pad thai. Surprisingly it came with brown rice too. Spicy asian peanut Chicken slightly overpowering sauce. Triple mousse. Super. When you eat a wonderful dessert, then you think of it is legal or ok to order another of the dessert you just had, even if for to go. Ooh.. the crucnh of the banana spring rolls even if it is not hard to imagine what its all about.

Classic Cookies with Modern Twists

Foodprintstyle Washboard cookies Not so washboard cookies. I didnt give them the tine treatment. While dipping the cookies in coconut, I though why not Chia seeds, and thats how we have those dots on the cookies. The recipe in the book is slightly different from the link here as it has coconut-lime twist. I love the cover of the 'Classic Cookies with Modern twist' book by ellen Jackson and the pictures too. Wish there were pictures for every recipe like the other reviewers felt too. Lack of some pictures was glaring, because its not like there are no pages. Each recipe takes two to three pages and it seemed like the recipe you liked wasnt matching the picture because it never made it into the book. The smaller size of the book makes it, easy to tackle. I tried the washboard cookies. Liked the flavour and texture. My little one too got involved in mixing and rolling them out onto the cookie sheet. Next up might be snickerdoodles. I have had them as a signature desser...

Buffet at Chennai Fusion Grill

Interesting Dishes: Manchurian with chestnut Beetroot Halwa - Granted it fails in masking the vegetable taste for those who dont like healthy food. But I like it that they tried. Jalebi pieces in ras Another sweet that had  the consistency of oil mixed with brown sugar. The aloo tikki in the photo was least liked by me. Unauthentic and hate the breaded outer thing.
