Chicken Tikka BBQ


A winner recipe from a friend who makes cooking seem effortless.


Chicken Tikka BBQ (can be cooked in grill or oven): ----------------------- Chicken - 1kg (2 lbs) Marinade: Shaan Tikka BBQ - 1 packet ginger/garlic paste (2 tblsp) yogurt - 1/4 cup Turmeric pwd - 1/2 tsp chili powder/black pepper - 1/2 tsp each (optional if you need more heat) Mustard (gnd or powder) - 2 tsp Salt - 1 - 2 tsp since Shaan alreadly has salt Lemon juice (1 lemon) Oil (1/4 cup) Method: Cut chicken into the size desired for grilling. Drumsticks/wings can leave skin on. Mix all ingredients in marinade. Add to chicken, mix well using hands. Leave refrigerated for 12 hrs or longer. Insert in skewers (to cook in oven) or place them in grill. Heat oven to 375 deg. Cook chicken for 1-1.5 hrs until chicken internal temp reaches 165-170 (or juices run clear).

Streit's Potato Pancake Mix

In went some Indian spices - Cumin, Dhanajiru powder, pepper and salt. Had it with green mirchi chutney and dahi. Tasted like vada. Vegeterian Kishke  can be made with carrots and celery added to the potato pancake mix.
