Leather under an omelet

While reading Hopi summer, I came across leather lemon pie and wondered what the leather was doing in a pie. wiki leads me to Fruit leather.

Can I call that transparent layer formed under a sunny side up (we are talking of a broken egg, so the white is MIA) as leather?

In went some Indian spices - Cumin, Dhanajiru powder, pepper and salt. Had it with green mirchi chutney and dahi. Tasted like vada. Vegeterian Kishke can be made with carrots and celery added to the potato pancake mix.
